In 1982, Roald Dahl wrote a parody of six classic nursery rhymes, injecting them with some of his finest dark humor. (The collection was illustrated by his partner-in-crime Quentin Blake.) But over the years, the collection was eclipsed by Dahl’s more famous work, and by the time a German production company decided to animate them in 2017, few had in fact heard of the collection at all.
The shorts were nominated for the 2017 Academy Award and are currently available on Netflix. Do watch them - they are fantastic!
